The main road which runs through a small commune is closed for the day and everyone relaxes in the sun to listen to all manner of the performers from a singer with her backing guitarist to big bands with 20 musicians. There is Boogie, New Orleans, Big Band Swing and Dixieland. I always thought playing the spoons was a particularly English quirk but much hilarity greeted one number accompanied by a spoon player whose spoons gradually gained size throughout the number and ended up with huge soup ladles.
